Umm...But Does it Come in "Eggplant?"
Oh, only "Celadon?" I guess that'll do.

I think maybe a BIGGER chair is in order.
...so I got the biggest "chair" I could find. And why the hell not? (Next time bf might need to be more careful to what he offers as a birthday gift.) This is the most awesome piece of furniture ever! I always wanted a pillow corner, and now I've finally got it. Way better than that beanbag I bought the other day. I can just imagine my cat Squeekers curled up on this thing and be in Kitty Heaven. Which, I think may be the best aspect of this chair, is that I do feel kind of like a cat lounging about when I get in this thing.
So now I've got the perfect reading/sketching/napping area I could imagine. I think I'm going to go read some more, you all can drool over the extreme comfort that I'll be enjoying. Sweetness.

Vivo!
So, I've posted up some drawings from my figure drawing class (be warned, the cretacolor one is a fully nude woman). I've put up my favorites from each of the three media we've worked with so far, thought it might be fun to share.
I just finished doing the charcoal one earlier tonight, we had to do an outside drawing exemplifying "nocturnal lighting". Which can be very vague and doesn't need to show a lightsource directly. I kind of don't care to follow the assignment to the letter anyways because...my teacher kind of irritates me. She can't give us the assignment over the weekend (she sort of talks about it, but specifically says to not start on it this weekend), but it's due this Wednesday. Which isn't really much time at all if you want to get someone to sit still for you so that you can draw (fortunately we don't have to find people willing to shed their clothes for this outside project). So I get bf to pose for a short while so I can snap shots to use for later because I don't have just a person around with at least an hour to spend sitting still so I can draw them tonight or tomorrow. I'd feel worse about taking pictures (it's sort of cheating, it kind of takes the mental factor out of transforming something 3 dimensional to something 2 dimensional because the picture does that for you), but she's basically given me no time. Over the weekend I probably could have gotten someone to sit still for me, but not on a Monday or a Tuesday, especially when I'm living by myself now. So, kind of annoying, but I like what I've drawn so far. I'm not really worried, just annoyed.
Yeah, my figure drawing TA is a nice lady, but man, she always kind of talks to us like we're in Middle School or something. I guess that's what happens after being an art teacher for quite a few years. She's way to structured for an advanced art class, beginning level lots of structure is okay, but by this point...you know.
Okay, I'll stop bitching about that, just wasn't having fun drawing in class today. Was having fun drawing at home, but not in class. Oh, and the TA whistles to the radio...very badly. Apparently I've been getting annoyed easily. Oh well.
I had to attend a meeting at work today with some guy trying to sell a Vivo! label printer. I think it has the most atrocious logo I may have ever encountered, and the printer is purple. Of all colors, purple? On a printer? Blech. So that was interesting, but not really. I was having a hard time not laughing out loud at the horribly cheesy presentation video. I don't see how I was the only one who thought it was funny, unless everyone else was sleeping, I don't know. I was also really aware of all the charcoal stuck to my hands from drawing before and how I looked like chimney sweep from Mary Poppins (I did manage to get all the smudges off my face before going to work, which is a good thing).
I'm going ramble off into nothing soon now. I'm going to get some late night munchies and head to bed soon. Night all.

Cheeky Bird
Did you know that Texas is hot? Because it is, especially this past week. I felt awful riding my bike back from class today. With the heat and the exertion of riding uphill and being a bit hungry I was real "shaky" for about 30 minutes (sitting in air conditioning and eating lunch made me feel much better after that). I felt so gross and sweaty for the rest of the day. Thank god for showers.
Boscoe kind of just pissed me off before, I had him hanging out on my shoulder before and my hand ends brushing his tail and he ends up attacking my face and biting my lip. Needless to say he's in his cage now. It's just weird because he's been so good and calm all day, I didn't think he'd get agitated so quickly before. I don't think I'll ever understand bird behavior. Pretty good at understanding cats (dogs sorta, my parents dog kind of has a cat attitude), but birds? so far make very little sense to me. Especially Boscoe the Magnificent! (or should I say Boscoe the Grouch?)
Anyways, still drawing naked people. (Drew some very badly proportioned hands earlier. Off day I guess.) Still doing computer crap at work. I was getting quite frustrated with the barcode program earlier (I really hate that I'm in charge of putting actual barcodes on the stuff I'm doing, I'm bound to screw something up). It wasn't putting the right last number in the barcode, even though it said that was the "input" I put in, it would show up as the number I typed in. Makes no sense to me.
I had to explain how to officially place packaging/products/literature into the purchasing database to my coworker earlier. Which, I don't completely understand the process myself, so I wasn't very good at explaining it...I just know what I'm supposed to do and I don't really care what happens to this stuff afterwards because that's whole big pile crap I don't want to deal with. So as long as I get my end done correctly, I don't need to know what happens beyond. My coworker, on the other hand, DOES want to know all the why's and why not's of this stuff, which, is fine, but I can't really help her out. I don't feel like restructuring a whole 20 or 30 years worth of files and data to get it to work better with the computer system. Some of the organization doesn't really make much sense at times, but the company is still running so it can't be too horrible. I also don't feel it's the Graphic's Intern's (me) or Temp Technical Writer's (her, the coworker) problem or job to deal with or worry about. Why fight the system?
I don't know what any of that has to do with anything, I just felt like sharing that my coworker is uber obsessed with trying to reorganize and restructure lots of stuff that isn't even directly dealing with graphics and literature crap (and believe me, we have enough to worry about there). Whatever, as long as I don't get dragged into doing something else I'm not really qualified for I'll be happy.
I'm tired and I'm off to bed.

Please, Just Sit STILL!
Do you know what can make a figure drawing class difficult and frustrating? A model that can't sit STILL! Good lord this man couldn't NOT move. I understand it's uncomfortable to try and sit absolutely still, but hey you're naked ass is getting paid to sit STILL. So we can draw you, and not end up with oddly proportioned or weirdly angled body parts because you moved while we're in the middle of drawing you. I can understand some twitches or just a bad random itch that needs to be scratched, but I don't think he sat still for over 5 minutes at any given time. A clench of the hands there, a shift in position here, a giant stretch...again. Just stay still, it sucks, but you signed up for this job so do it so that I can draw.
Okay, enough ranting on fidgety naked people, oodles of fun there. Haven't done much other than that and work. Work is...always exciting. I did make me some cornbread though, that's good eatin'. Those little premixed packages are cheap and easy and make a good amount for one person. I didn't even use real eggs or real milk and the cornbread's great. It's nice to have Vegan friendly alternatives, even though I'm only Vegan sometimes (which isn't really being Vegan then).
Boscoe seems to be really liking his coconut shell recently, I think he gets a little frustrated though that he can't fit himself completely inside it because his tail gets in the way. It's fun to see him try though.
I guess now I'm going to be designing my sister's wedding invitations, so that's kind of cool. A more personal wedding gift and I can't afford anything too nice anyways. Hope I can come up with something she really likes, that would be good. I'm going to wait for her to show me some examples of already made wedding invites from magazines and such first before trying to come up with something so I can at least start with an idea she likes and not end up on some tangent that I spend a lot of time on that might not not care for at all. So gotta brainstorm with her (oh, and her fiancee too...I guess) before trying to come up with some designs.
Fun stuff. Just had to put Boscoe to bed, he's good at being squawky and cranky when he's tired. A little too good, makes me squawky and cranky too. Well, I need something to quench my thirst and then I'm off to read in bed until I'm too tired to focus my eyes properly. Buenos Noches.

Would You Like to Take a Survey?!
So not a too enthralling day today. I did buy a wall clock and a bean bag chair (which I've always wanted but never had the floor space for) both for 10 dollars each (go Big Lots! a poor college student's dream). As you can imagine though not the top quality in either product, but I don't really care about having a bean bag chair that'll last forever...it's a bean bag chair.
I did make 40 bucks today for taking a survey, and somehow it technically counts as community service if I ever need to claim that I did community service for...something. I don't know what for or why, but I could. Though it asked an awful lot about "family planning" (I say this in quotes because it more focused on what leads to families, whether they're planned or not), which seems like an odd thing to be taking surveys for, but I guess there's a survey for everything...and I got 40 bucks. No complaints here.
Other than that Boscoe's been kind of weird today, well, weirder than usual. Every time I've tried to take him out of his cage he just wants nothing to do me. He hasn't been squawky, actually chirping rather nicely actually, and he seems okay, just doesn't want to leave his cage. Hopefully this doesn't persist, I don't know if I'd be up to reconditioning to actually want to come out of his cage. Though he still seems to want my attention, I just think he doesn't like my hands to well because I keep having to shoo him away from chewing on stuff. He generally gets really offended when I do that. He's really good at finding cords to chew on, which is a big no no.
Anyways, it's past 12:30 now so I think I'll go to bed. Night night.

Wake Up Call...I Mean Chirp
I can't quite seem to wake up today, which is odd because I slept through my alarm (I say through because my alarm wasn't actually on but I thought it was) and didn't wake up until 8 (when class starts) only because Boscoe started sing his morning call. Usually I'm a little annoyed if he wakes me up (because it's usually when I'm trying to sleep in a bit on the weekend), but this time it was a good thing. So, got to class about 25 minutes later and got to draw a naked girl and didn't really miss out on much in class.
"Project Runway" Season 3 has now begun, which is a pretty fun show. Got addicted to reruns of the last season a couple months ago so it'll be fun to actually see this season in the right order. Ah, designers competing against one another always entertaining and full of pompous arrogance. Plus the challenges they come up with on the show are very obscure at times. This first challenge everyone had to create a garment from the apartments that they just moved into for the show (about 4 people per apartment) and everyone went crazy tearing shit apart to get material to work with, but the best part is that while they were gone trying to get their designs done their apartments weren't cleaned up at all and they had to sleep on ripped apart mattresses and blankets. Genius. As horrible it is, it's kind of funny that the producers of the show just want to try to put as much strain and stress on these people as possible. I guess all reality shows share that idea though.
Boscoe apparently doesn't like me sitting at my computer even though I'm only a few feet away from him. Kind of a love/annoyed realationship going on between me and him, more so lately. This is why I've thought of getting him a friend many times. Though even if I really wanted to, I don't really have the extra money to spend anyways.
Maybe I'll head to bed early tonight, sounds like a plan. Talk to you peeps lay-ta.

Random Quote of the Day
Listen to me now, and believe me later: you can't count all the stars, Franz. It's like trying to count all your muscles.
Memoirs of a Crazy Bird
So...how ya been? Me? Oh I'm fine, just a little bored is all and I have this silly little habit of talking to myself. Keeps me sort of entertained since Boscoe can only squawk back at me.
Finished my Anthropology class on Asian Cultures on Friday and the test was not difficult at all. It probably helps that I went to class everyday and read the ethnographies, I'm sure the people that skipped all the time found the test a little more difficult. Now tomorrow I get to draw naked people again in my Intermediate Figure Drawing class. Oh what fun I will have...
...ah, Boscoe beckons to me, such a soothing squawk and chortle does that bird have. Lulls me right to sleep...or annoyance, take your pick. He has now found the squawking futile and resumed quiet mode again. He's been in a very squawky mood the past couple of days, he's rather insane.
Watched "Memoirs of a Geisha" last night, a good movie, but rather depressing. I thought it might be interesting to watch, especially after taking this Asian Culture class.
Damn bird. He won't shutup now, I don't know what his deal is lately, thinks I'm going to abandon him forever or something. Whatever, he'll get over it. I need to eat something, maybe I'll go and figure out what I want. Food.

She Lacks Class
Okay, so sitting in class...on the third of July...and our teacher isn't here 15 minutes in. I have a feeling that she won't be coming at all, fun stuff. Suprisingly there's a lot more students in here than I thought there would be and I was hoping that maybe us faithful students would be granted extra credit points or something when we still arrive for a holiday weekend.
It's nice not having work today or tomorrow, but I don't really have any plans for the Fourth of July. Kind of sucks that I can't do anything with the bf, but he's got all sorts of shows to play to help entertain the masses. I might see if I can tag along with a friend to somewhere or something...but yeah, you know.
Alright, everyone's signing a made up attendence sheet and leaving. I guess this class was sort of a waste.
Grrr...
