The Ending Project!
Yay! I've got all my stuff printed out and mounted for tomorrow! And then this project will be gone...but we also start immediately on another one. Terds. Anyways, hopefully I'll do well on the next project too (assuming I'm doing well on the current one). I just need to start coming up with some good ideas/directions to take on my LifeCell campaign. Here's hopin'.
What really sucks though is that I have an online test to do, and it's REALLY hard to guage what the questions are going to be like. I've been debating if I want to do it tonight yet (just finished going through the review) or if I should sleep on it and take it tomorrow. I really just want it gone though. Oh well, I'm pretty sure I'll do alright, I can always B.S. some answers on the written part fairly well.
I think I may be getting a bit sick too. After finishing up my project I think my body has now relaxed enough to let the viruses take over. Hopefully, it's just a weak cold at most, because I really don't have time to be sick, and school doesn't let off much when you are.
...I've decided I'll have to wait till tomorrow to take that test, I'm already quite tired. Stupid time change, screwing with my internal clock! or something.
Ooh, I did go to a costume party last night. I just used my old Domino's uniform as a costume (lame I know), but I did bring some pizza to make up for the lameness of it all. I also drank two beers, which, whoa, I'm such a lightweight. I was having some balancing issues for a little while last night. Nothing horrible, but I was very aware that it was getting harder to do anything that required a large step over something or was trying to squeeze past people. Then I sobered up in a couple of hours and watched other drunk people dance and be silly. I think that party was probably a really nice break for a lot of Comm Designers. I wish I brought my camera though, quite a few good costumes (not lame like mine) like: Kim Jong Il, Bender, Tetris pieces, Flava Flave, a dead albino squirrel (makes sense if you go to UNT), gay condiments (complete with MAN-aise), and a pizza hut guy (see, I wasn't the only one who lame-assed out!).
Pretty fun all in all, and I'm going to be so happy to drop off all my stuff in class tomorrow. Hell-ay-u-yah! (or Hallejuah!) and good riddance.

Return of the Never-Ending Story
Finally! The end is in site for the Never-Ending project. It means a lot of work this weekend, but I'm taking off work tomorrow and will be damn happy to get rid of this thing. Fortunately I am pretty happy with how things are turning out on the project so that is very good news to me, but it's going to be a bit stressful in getting everything completed in an orderly fashion.
Anyways, I've still got quite a bit to do and I'm hoping to go to bed in the somewhat near future. Ah, the joys of Comm Design...damnit, I've got an online test to do to, grr... Haven't even started to study for that. At least I get to look at my notes (or lack thereof) during the test. I'll probably do ok.
Wish me luck!

The Never Ending Project
Except I don't get a cool dog/dragon to fly on...
So, Primal Quest is going Primal and taking 4 evah! I want to be done with this client, I'm tired of getting hammered in critiques, I'm tired of not truly having free time. I want to come home and not have to worry about doing more homework, I'm tired of this one class being my second job. I spend a good portion of the day on the computer at my part time job, and then I've got to create more stuff on the computer when I get home.
Even when I'm not doing homework I'm THINKING about homework, I can't have a moments peace. Maybe I should become a zookeeper or something (one of my childhood dream jobs, I just really really like animals, even Sir Squawk-a-lot). I want to do a good job on this thing, but man is it beating me down. It's just taking forever to get ANYWHERE!
And I'm tired of the professors wanting us to do full-size pencil layouts when we've already got pretty final looking stuff on the computer! Just because pencil layouts work for them doesn't mean you can't do it another way. Everyone in my Graphic Design class seems to agree (especially after quite a few of us have had internships) that most clients like to see computer outputs. Plus most clients, in my opinion, won't have a problem saying that they want something different or a change. A lot of this stuff is easier to do on the computer, particularly if you're dealing with a lot of photos or something, in many ways its easier and better (more representative) looking of the final piece than a "tight pencil" drawing would be.
I'm tired of critiques, I'm to the point where I might just go off and do my own thing and show a pretty much finished product without showing my much of process in class. I'm getting tired of process because this process is taking way to friggin' long.
Okay, so I'm done ranting. I just feel like my class took a step backward this week instead of forward. Forward good, backward bad. Hopefully I can post a picture of my "final" poster soon and hopefully some spreads for my little pamphlet too. Night all.

Take a Logo!
School's been dragging me down as of late, namely graphic design. Too many things going on at once while still having to go to work and other classes (fortunately my other classes haven't been TOO time consuming, but you know). My computer has been beating me down as well, it's not handling the giant poster image and other graphics I've been dealing with very well, making what would take me 20 minutes to do more like an hour. Bleck.
Currently I'm defragging my harddrive, so hopefully that will help with dealing with some of these graphics. This project just seems neverending and I'm getting tired of everything having to have a concept. Can't something JUST be cool looking every once in a while? Most people don't even get the concept behind a lot of design anyways, but I suppose it's "subliminal" advertising or something.
Let's look at some logos shall we? The arrow between the E and the X in FedEx (look at the white, not the letters), the Nike swoosh is an abstract representation of wings (i.e. Nike the Greek goddess of victory), the Prudential rock stands for stability and security, and U-Haul has blocky, "boxey" letters (if you look at one there store signs you'll notice that all the letters are in their own box). Just to give a few examples.
I don't even know why I'm talking about this crap. I'm tired I guess. My Forensic Anthropology class is starting to get more disturbing, interesting, but disturbing. It's cool to know how people get figure out IDs on dead people and stuff, but I don't need to see pictures and it's unsettling to know how these deaths come about. Like pictures of a botched funeral prepping of a body (the woman looked bad even for a dead person), because a "student" at mortuary school screwed up on his test body. So much so, that the family wanted an ID done to know if this was their sister and pictures showing how the dental ID was done (they have to cut apart the cheeks, I looked at my desktop a whole during this class). At least I'm pretty sure I'm not missing my calling on dealing with dead people, I leave those jobs to people who aren't very squeemish.
Anyways, that's all I got for tonight. Night folks.

Retnirp
Ah the joys of printer trouble and the great frustration (and the sucking of time) that follows. At least my boyfriend was able to help me, we didn't really end up figuring out the issue, but instead of tying up my computer on trying to print stuff, he just went home and did it there. One way to solve the problem at least.
I'm fairly happy with how my pamphlet spreads are turning out for the whole Primal Quest quest thing, I've been behind on that and really want something to show and get feedback on tomorrow. That would be nice. Feedback and constructive criticism is always helpful.
It kind of sucks that's after one in the morning now. Which isn't terribly late, but I have work in the morning, and work is boring. I get sleepy enough there as it is, and coffee will start to wage war on my stomach if I drink too much. So bah humbug on that shit...or something.
I might need to eat something before heading to bed though because I've eaten kind of craptacular meals today. Well, actually the McDonald's tasted pretty good earlier, but that might have been because I was starving. Starving usually can play a factor in how tasty and satisfying food is, because the hungrier the lower your standards go.
Anyways, heading to bed soon. Hope others have had a productive evening as well.
