When Sleeping in is a Good Thing

Yay, I am spending my evening NOT doing homework, quite splendid it is. I even made Jell-O, and I think it should be pretty near ready so I will enjoy that in the near future (with Cool Whip, JOY!).

Last night was pretty crappy, got a hold of some bad Taco Bell (sort of redundant I know) and really did not feel well, at all. I had the intention of going to work bright and early this morning to help out with a new Intern that my boss hired, but I still felt rather nauseated this morning and thought better of it. I'm really quite glad I didn't go in until about 1 because...the Intern...she did not appear...and I would have been extremely "peeved" if I had drug myself out of bed at 8 o'clock this morning while still feeling rather unwell and have the reason I got myself up so early, when I'm not in school at the moment, not show up. So it worked out, I got more sleep felt a bit better at 1 than I did at 8 and had a fairly productive workday. So blah blah.

Right now I'm trying to organize the crapload of papers I have lying around. I guess it's not THAT bad, but it needs doing and seeing as I'm going home for all next week and then moving into my new place on the following Tuesday I need to be pretty much packed up by this weekend. That also means I need to get some boxes to put my shit in as well. Always something.

Things are going well despite the Taco Bell incident.

Dammit I tried to take a cute picture of Boscoe surfing on his cuttle bone but he moved by the time I got the camera out. Damn bird.

Anyways, it's shower time for me, so goodnight.

Random Quote of the Day

You're not done! Steak's done, you're finished.

I'm Done!

Yay! My Annual Report is now complete! Now all I have to do is bring all my stuff in for the portfolio review tomorrow. I still have a test to take that evening, but it'll be quite nice to have my Comm Design stuff all finished.

Well, just felt like sharing that I was done, now I'm going to try and do some studying before hitting the hay. Night.

P for Procrastination

Ah, the joy of blogger and the wasting of time. I'm going to need to do some real work in the near future, I've got get quite a bit of stuff finished up for my portfolio review on Tuesday, not to mention I also have a test in another class that same evening. I should be able to get everything done fine though. I'm hoping to make a booklet of my Annual Report, but I want to have my pages printed on both sides and not just two pages pasted together, but I don't know if I'll be able to get the registration right so that everything lines up on both sides.

Ooh, and also, I have signed a lease for a new apartment! YAY! Apartment for me. I did some more searching on Thursday and found this place that was the exact same layout of the apartment that I had liked the most and the price was about as cheap as I was going to find so I signed that same day. The extra plus side of that is I also got $150 off my first month's rent because I signed the same day I looked at the place. I'm quite excited about the whole new apartment thing and I'll get to move in at the end of May. So it's like an early birthday gift to me!

Yay for early birthday gifts. That in itself is exciting because then I can actually go out with other people to bars and I can flash my DL showing that I'm 21. Not that I really care that much about drinking, but it's nice nonetheless. I'll probably just go out and get a margarita or something just because I can, though those margaritas can be pretty tasty.

So, last week a school, new apartment, turn 21 in less than a month, bird's currently NOT squawking...I'd have to say things are going quite well. My apartment is pretty close to the campus rec center so maybe I'll actually work out over the summer, or maybe I can at least convince myself to ride my bike more often, that might be nice.

I also got to see "V for Vendetta" on Friday night, which was a very good movie in my opinion. Though it could have done without the oh-so-obvious lectures on the American Government, I mean they were getting to the point with the oppressive Nazi-like government and warning of letting other governments become the same way without the actual lectures. But whatever, what I really liked about the movie was the quirky aspect of "V" the hero. I found his character to be refreshing and I am now intrigued enough that I'll think I'll buy me the graphic novel and see how far the movie deviates from the comic.

Anyways, I think I'm going to get some food before actually getting to work and actually try to focus on something for more than a few minutes. So long.

What a Headache!

Wow, I've had the worst headache this evening. I can't remember the last time I've had one this bad. Not really sure what caused it, perhaps I'm more stressed than I've led myself to believe. I do know that Boscoe isn't really helping me get rid of it though, he's been exceptionally talkative tonight. At least he isn't squawking.

I guess I'll continue my apartment search tomorrow, hopefully I can find something a bit cheaper than what I have currently on the top of my list. I suppose it wouldn't be too bad paying a bit more, I think if I actually started cooking more of my food instead of getting subs and burritos all the time I might save some money there...I don't know, see what I find tomorrow I guess.

Okay, I'm heading to bed since my head is still pretty bad. Much better than it was earlier, but I think sleep might be the best thing for me right now. Good night.

Hot Dog!

Must stop playing Civilization II and do real work, I suck at the game anyways, yet now I've addicted myself to it again. Sheesh.

I almost brought home two dogs yesterday. They were walking along the side of the road and then tried to CROSS the road after I passed them and thought they'd get hit for sure. So me and this other lady pulled over at about the same time and we were trying to figure out what to do with them. They were cute, and very nice, one looked like a pitbull and the other was a sleeker black dog, both weighed about 30 lbs I'd guess. The dogs were so skinny and they had to been horribly thirsty, it was really hot out yesterday, the poor pups. I was about ready to take them and then another lady pulled up and she said she had a house and yard and stuff and she'd take them for the night and try to find the Humane Society to go and take them to. I was a little sad I didn't get them, but I hope they're doing okay. Such sweet puppies.

Oh well, I'll have a yard someday and I'll be able to get some more stray pets again. Take them in as they wonder on by without a home until I give them one. That won't be for a while yet considering that it's looking hard enough to find a one bedroom or efficiency apartment that's in my price range and isn't crap. Though there is one that I've found that looks really nice and isn't too expensive. More than I want to pay, but it looks like I'm not going to be able to find much cheaper unless I lower my standards by quite a bit. Plus this complex looked and felt nice and safe, and with me going off to live by myself, I think that's VERY important.

I'm going to look around a bit more, but I think I might be sold on this little efficiency. Plus it sounded like there were a few of these units free so I wouldn't have to fight to get one too bad. I think I will try to get a deposit and sign a lease somewhere before the end of this week though. I'll feel a lot better knowing I have a place secured.

Better get back (or actually start) to work. It would be nice to have my Annual Report completely done (except for actually printing and mounting and perhaps making a booklet) before this weekend and playing video games isn't helping me accomplish that. Off I go.
